Job DescriptionThe University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a Compliance Specialist I to support the Access Control function. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulated activities related to access authorization, background screening, and badging.
This position will assist with the day-to-day operations of MURR Access Control, including completion of daily tasks associated with background checks, and maintaining compliance with NRC regulations. This position will engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and will report to the Senior Director of Central Services.
Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include
Perform background checks including criminal, education, employment, and other facets, as required by Federal Regulations, aligned with MURR policies and procedures, and consistent with University and Federal guidelines as they pertain to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Obtain fingerprints, send them to the FBI and NRC, and document the results.
Maintain associated databases, records, and documentation as required by regulations.
Ensure compliance policies and procedures (and other forms/procedures) are appropriately revised, routed, documented, and archived as required by Federal Law, using approved MURR procedures and coordinating with appropriate stakeholders.
Maintain and manage facility-wide access for employees, site partners, campus support, guests, and others by ensuring appropriate training and other prerequisites are completed.
Assist the front desk by providing back-up support.
Ensure facility access for badged personnel and visitors is conducted in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain and audit a log of all physical facility keys.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
